leaders.
By harnessing the infinite power of digital communication, we are building a global

The
Virtual Pilgrimage will take you on a journey through Africa’s rich history,
celebrating its culture and heritage. Designed by one of our most proficient curators,
we proudly present a collection of stories that highlight Africa’s victories, showcasing
heritage sites and the diverse cultures of Africa.
Imagine a modern African town transformed into an artist’s wonderland: a creative
space where digital and traditional art forms stand side by side, telling stories
of Africa's greatness.
Each installation within the Virtual Pilgrimage is a reflection of the evolution
of indigenous cultures and cultural links developed over time.

Film is a powerful tool, not just to keep children still, to introduce media studies
topics or to entertain, but to bring to life subjects that can seem very remote
from today's world. It can be effectively used as a means to champion social change
and to discover the voices of marginalized communities. The Celebrating Africa Festival
presents short films and documentaries which are not only thought provoking but
challenge pervasive stereotypes and contain lessons on life with positive moral
messages.

The festival literature offering brings together African writers and scholars to
stimulate an interest in the literary arts and to reinforce the spirit of story
telling by writing and reading.
Drawing upon established and emerging literary artists, we celebrate the richness
of African story telling and demonstrate how the art form has contributed to Africa’s
economic, cultural and socio-political environment. The Celebrating Africa Festival’s
writers will also take part in a range of themed panel discussions, public readings,
question and answer sessions as well as wider reaching community events such as
creative writing workshops for schools. After all, literature is the bedrock of
any meaningful development and the arts are a creative and noble profession which
ought to be inculcated in children at their tender age.
