Face of Africa Down to Final 12

24-Dec-2009
Kampala — The 12 M-NET Face of Africa finalists are vying for attractive prizes awaiting the winner at the series finale in Lagos in February 2010

It kicked off with boot camp, featuring 24 beautiful models from 16 African countries. Now the search for M-Net's Face of Africa, after challenging the contestants to tight tasks, is down to the top 12, who made it through to participate in the prestigious Swahili Fashion Week.

Unfortunately, Uganda dropped out at boot camp level.

Representing Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, each one of the finalists is gunning for the attractive prizes awaiting the winner at the series finale in Lagos come February next year.

And the prizes are: a modeling contract from O Model Africa, $50,000 (sh100m) from M-Net, skincare products for 12 months from Iman Cosmetics and a trip to the US to participate in the New York Fashion Week, courtesy of Arise Magazine.

With the skills that have been dispensed to each one of them by modeling and fashion gurus, anyone can snuggle the jackpot.

They are: 19-year-old Benedicta from, Ghana; Nigeria's 21-year-old Blessing, 22-year-old Diana, a fourth year commerce student from Kenya, Mozambique's Ernania, and Esperanca aka Hope from Luanda, Angola.

Others are: Tanzania's, 21-year-old Lillian, 22-year-old Lukundo from Zambia, 20-year-old Marvis, also from Nigeria; 19-year-old Nardos from Ethiopia, Zimbabwe's Roseanna, South Africa's 22-year-old Thembi, an electrical engineering student and 23-year-old Tholakele from Zimbabwe. You can watch the show on Saturday at 8:00pm on M-Net. From designing and modeling outfits, doing the catwalk public speeches and a lot more, the models have done. Who will outshine them to replace last year's Kate Menson?
